The project, implemented by VisionCraft in partnership with Inova Solutions, deploys autonomous IoT sensors to improve street safety and accessibility in Călărași, Moldova. It addresses the lack of reliable data on pedestrian behavior, which limits effective urban planning—especially for vulnerable groups such as women, children, older adults, and persons with disabilities. The solution introduces AI-powered mobile sensors that collect real-time data on traffic flows, speeds, and risk points. This enables evidence-based design of safer crossings, traffic calming measures, and more inclusive public spaces.  Through a full cycle of data collection, intervention, and impact evaluation, the project supports data-driven urban planning. It also builds local capacity and delivers a scalable, low-cost system that can be replicated across other cities, improving road safety and inclusive mobility nationwide.
