The project, implemented by Consort Georgia in partnership with Palacký University Olomouc, strengthens Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) capacity in Georgia by integrating it into university education and professional training systems. It addresses the lack of practical AAC knowledge and hands-on experience among specialists working with people who cannot rely on speech.

The project introduces AAC laboratories, device-based practicum training, and joint curriculum development across Georgian universities, supported by international expertise and comparative research with Czech institutions. Through trainings, study visits, and research, the initiative builds academic and professional capacity while embedding AAC into higher education structures. This creates a sustainable foundation for improved communication support services and enables long-term scale-up across Georgia’s education and disability sectors.
