The project aims to establish a standardized radon risk assessment system in Bosnia and Herzegovina by piloting the Czech nationally recognized methodology for soil and indoor radon measurement. By conducting field sampling at selected pilot sites, installing passive and continuous detectors, and analyzing geological and building data, the project will create a scientifically robust “radon passport” of the site. Implemented by Dekonta FBIH, in partnership with Institue for public health FBIH, the initiative provides hands-on training for local experts, demonstrates harmonized measurement and data-processing protocols, and develops a roadmap for nationwide radon monitoring. This approach strengthens local capacity, supports evidence-based public health planning, and lays the foundation for a future national radon program aligned with EU safety standards.
