Next-Generation Emergency Communication: Inclusive and Smart 112 for Moldova

Medical Information Technologies, in partnership with Moldova’s National Single Service for Emergency Number 112, is piloting a transformative initiative to modernize and expand the country’s emergency response system. The project introduces the NG-SOS solution—an advanced communication platform that enables real-time caller localization, multimedia interaction, and seamless cross-border integration with existing European NG-SOS applications. These enhancements aim to ensure that emergency services are accessible to everyone, including individuals with hearing or visual impairments, non-native speakers, and international visitors.

Through the development of a custom Moldovan version of the NG-SOS mobile app and the deployment of a new dispatcher portal, the project brings life-saving features such as video calls, live chat with automatic translation, and comprehensive caller profiles directly into the hands of emergency responders. By adopting this state-of-the-art system, Moldova not only bridges existing service gaps but also sets a scalable model for inclusive, tech-driven public safety infrastructure across the region.
