Assistance in Preparation of Management Structure and Management Plan Outline of Planned Machakhela Protected Landscape
The objective of the UNDP/GEF Project “Expansion and improved management effectiveness of Achara region’s protected areas” is to enhance the management effectiveness, biogeographic coverage and connectivity of Protected Areas (hereafter PA) of the Achara Autonomous Region of Georgia to better conserve the globally unique Colchic Forests (i.e. temperate rainforest). The area is of biodiversity importance with a high proportion of narrow-ranged (local endemic) plants and a well-known bottleneck for migratory birds.
The consultancy of Mr. Hošek assists the Municipality of Khelvachauri in acquiring Czech expertise and solutions applied in the management of protected landscapes, specifically in relation to the planning of protected landscapes management structure and preparation of the Management Plan outline.
