Support to BIM Implementation in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Construction is a strategically important sector for the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of production, job creation and maintenance of the public space. However, due to limited digitalization, poor information management and lack of investment in technology and research, its productivity has stagnated and the sector does not modernize further.

The project aims to introduce Building Information Modelling (BIM), which is an effective tool for sustainable construction throughout the life cycle of the building. As a database of information, which may include complete data from the initial design of the building, its construction, management and potential modifications to their demolition should offer increased work efficiency and savings on material costs and paperwork.

The project has been managed by the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (ÚNMZ) that has several years of experience with the implementation of the BIM method at a national level.
