Digitization of Tourism Content in Sutjeska National Park

The National park of Sutjeska welcomes over 100 000 local and international visitors every year. The park’s management requires tourists to hire a guide for any hiking excursion, however, there is a lack of physical guides as well as guides with knowledge of foreign languages.

To solve this issue, the project has offered to digitize tourist content of the National Park and to publish it on the SmartGuide application. The digitized content, which will be available in multiple languages for offline download at the entry to the park will provide visitors with audio guides, augmented reality features as well as an option to notify the park management in case of any trouble or danger. The project expects to resolve the shortage of human resources by providing comprehensive up-to-date information and hopes to attract more tourists to the area.

The initiative has been managed by SmartGuide, a company specializing in digitization of destinations and tourism content.
