Feasibility study on potentials for municipal and industrial sludge treatment and use in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sludge treatment, especially fecal sludge treatment, is one of the missing links of the sanitation and wastewater treatment activities. In the 1980’s former Yugoslavia, and hence all Western Balkan countries, usage of sludge in agricultural purposes was not elaborated well. Project envisages collection of municipal sludge samples and beverage company and application of the treatment technologies (solidification, composting, bio-drying). All these technologies’ effectiveness will be assessed through laboratory and pilot tests.

The project has been coordinated by DEKONTA, a.s. Since its establishment in 1992, DEKONTA has successfully undertaken thousands of projects in Europe, Asia and Africa.
