Research, drafting and economic modelling support for health knowledge products
The expert will support UNDP’s efforts to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, chronic respiratory illness, and mental ill-health—leading causes of premature death and disability worldwide. Recognizing that NCDs are driven by factors beyond the health sector (e.g., tobacco use, alcohol, poor diet, inactivity, pollution), the expert will help advance multisectoral approaches that align with universal health coverage goals.
The expert will provide research, coordination, and drafting support for UNDP’s work on NCDs and tobacco control, with a focus on health economics. Key deliverables include two in-depth national reports—one for Georgia and one for Zambia—analyzing the economic impact of NCDs using validated data and country-driven modeling. The expert will also produce a synthesis report and presentation summarizing results, experiences, and lessons learned from UNDP-supported health tax initiatives in CUP partner countries.
