Upcycling Challenge

Waste is generally one of the most significant environmental issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2003, generated municipal waste in BiH has been constantly increasing, and in 2010 it amounted to 332 kg per capita. The project has provided textile production secondary school students in Bosnia and Herzegovina an opportunity to learn about and practice upcycling in the fashion industry, while transferring Czech experience with innovations in sustainability on to a Bosnian-Herzegovinian partner.

The project has been coordinated by Nadace Veronica, a self-sustaining environmental non-profit organization, active in the South Moravian region since 1992.
