Preparation of Feasibility Study on the Potential for Using of Construction and Demolition Waste in Georgia

Globally, the construction waste ends up at landfills and causes underground water reserve pollution and high emission of CO2, while not being the financially optimal solution due to high cost of interim storage and transportation alongside a purchase of new construction materials. The situation in Georgia is especially dire with no nation-wide strategy to dispose of the construction waste.

The aim of this project is to study whether it is possible to convert the construction and demolition waste to new building materials using Erc-tech’s patented technology. The recycling and re-use of construction waste are beneficial from the environmental point of view (lower CO2 emissions and less risk polluting underground water), economic (lower cost of construction, employment opportunities) and social (an introduction of new, cleaner technology improving the livelihood) point of view. Erc-tech’s circular economy presents a 15 – 35 per cent lower cost of production of concrete / products, complete removal of ecological loads, closed recycling loop producing the final product.
