Road Asset Management system using AI for Georgia
Georgia has over 21, 000 Km of roads. To monitor every part of it by human or heavily specialized vehicle, would amount to Millions of EUR per year and it costs 2 or 3 times more to renovate worn roads than to maintain them in time.
In order to improve the monitoring of the Georgian roads, Czech company Vision Craft together with their local partner GlobalPort LLC implements a pilot project Road Asset Management system using AI.
viRAM is an AI-driven IoT-based vehicle to infrastructure solution operating in real time and using collected data from moving vehicle cameras to detect and identify road surface quality, missing or damaged markings and road signs, road restraint systems, and obstacles
In this pilot project, POC with viRAM will include 10 sensors, that will in real-time collect data from vehicles owned by the state or local government or its agencies, that already drive on the roads in Georgia, but will produce this road quality data immediately after its calibration at the start of the project.
As a result, viRAM will generate real-time reports and create an exact map overlay of road assets and their conditions, which will help local governments to maintain roads and improve overall road safety.
